Habitat: The growth habit varies widely depending on the cultivar and most will adapt

well to their immediate soil types. However, they will not tolerate extremely

wet or dry conditions or very alkaline soils.

Origin: Not native to North America.

Lifespan: Varies with specific cultivars.

Size: 15-25 ft tall, 10-25 ft wide.

Reproduction: Dioecious; produces a double-winged samara.

Interesting Facts: There are hundreds of cultivars available. This species may grow as

single-stemmed small trees or multi-stemmed shrubs depending on the specific

cultivar. Upon maturity this species is relatively invulnerable to pests. This

species is not known to be invasive.

Common uses: This is one of the most beautiful small trees for the ornamental

landscape. Its slow to moderate growth rate allows it to be trained as a bonsai or planted in a planter to allow movement around your home.
